Introduction

The intriguing subject of Value Creation is best reflected in the famous Enron debacle where the share value soared whilst senior managers quietly destroyed value in the company. A decade later value that was recreated in many sectors of the business world once again was a victim of managers destroying billions worth of corporate value throughout the world.

Therefore it is more than imperative that managers and financial managers understand that the purpose of any business is to create sustainable value for customers, employees, and investors, and that the interests of these three groups are inextricably linked and relevant.

This 3 hours session is designed to give an insight into the importance of value creation and how business strategies and tactics can be used and measured to create value and sustain it. This session should enable you to contribute effectively to top management thinking and action.

Course Objective

At the end of the session, the expected outcomes include:

· What “ Senior Management” and “Operational management” needs to do
· How Value and Economic Value is computed

3. The Value Drivers in the Context of the Life Cycle of an Organization
· What are Value Drivers and why they vary
· Owners of Value drivers

4. Identifying the Right measures
· Identification and communication of Measures

5. Performance Evaluation and Reward Systems to support Value creation

6. Case studies on Value Creation and Value Destruction of Malaysian Listed Companies

The methodology includes Lecture, extensive group discussions and learning debriefs.

Speaker’s Profile

Mr Richard Jacob, MBA [Cranfield, U.K], AMA Global Faculty Member

Richard Jacob is the founder and Principal Consultant of RCJ Consulting Sdn Bhd. He is an American Management Association (AMA) Global Faculty Member and has delivered training programs in Tokyo, Manila, Singapore, Jakarta, Lahore, Karachi, Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, Saigon and Hanoi. He has an MBA from Cranfield School of Management in the United Kingdom, which is a leading European Business School. He is an Accountant by training and was an Auditor in an international firm of Accountants for nine years. His strategic experience comes from being a Financial Manager, Company Secretary and Business Development Manager in a leading Swedish pharmaceutical company by the name of Astra Pharmaceutical.

Since 1995, Richard has consulted and trained some 9,900 General Managers and executives in several companies in Asia in his core business competencies which are Finance, Marketing, Leadership, Strategy and Change. Additionally he does soft skills training as he rose from the ranks and has significant line management experience.

Richard is a skilled global trainer and facilitator with the capabilities to get participants to relate concepts into practice. Given his towering personality, his ascent up the corporate ladder from being an articled clerk and his broad experience in developing and managing organizations, he has a special interest in the areas of behavioural change including motivation and attitude development.
