ACCA-SME Initiative
Accountants are the first-choice advisers of small business and are at the hub of local commercial networks. ACCA wishes to support a health and vibrant small business sector which is able to overcome barriers to growth and to create new ideas, products and services.
ACCA wishes to remain the professional accountancy body closest to the small business community. ACCA will focus its work to promote the growth of SMEs in three critical areas. They are:
- Helping small businesses handle regulation;
- Providing better financial information; and
- Improving access to finance.
ACCA is committed to assist SMEs through:
- A range of relevant programmes for its members, in practice, industry
and commerce; - Promoting high standards of financial and general management among
owner-managers; - Support for research on issues in this sector, through direct collaboration with SME organisations; and
Partnerships with small business organisations to highlight key areas.
ACCA - SME Committee will organise various initiatives and programmes to:
- Contribute towards the positive growth of SMEs throughout Malaysia (focus on the Bio Industry and Women Entrepreneurs);
- Develop a competitive environment for members in practice, industry and commerce;
- Enhance ACCA's national standing and our wish to be seen as a good
corporate citizen; and - Assist small businesses to handle regulation confidently.
